Orthodontics is a time commitment for both doctor and patient, often lasting for two years. Dr. Gomez sees her patients every four to six weeks, maintaining a personal and professional balance with them by chatting about day–to–day activities with a generous dash of humor. With children who are curious about headgear and other equipment, Dr. Gomez uses a hands-on approach, letting them handle the objects that will become part of their lives. Her office is trilingual and can converse with patients in Tagalog and Spanish, if they are more comfortable in those languages. Maybelle Gomez knows that building close relationships with her patients is an essential part of a successful orthodontics treatment.
